NEWTON COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL IS A MODEL PBIS SCHOOL..WE ARE PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF..OUR CODES OF CONDUCT ARE: RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, AND SELF-CONTROL.

Welcome to the Parents Make a Difference webpage!á

To the NCMS Family,

Thank you for your involvement in your student's education.á

Current topics, parenting tips, and supportive materials can be found by clicking-Parents Make A Differenceáor Los Padres aun hacen la diferencia for the Spanish version.á These "hot topic" resourcesáare updated each month for your convenience.á

At NCMS, we feel it is important to give parents opportunities for "on-campus" family involvement, as well.á One safe school initiative, which affords fathers, father-figures, and community leaders the opportunity to be on campus, is WatchD.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students).á More information is availableáto you by clicking WatchD.O.G.S.á To sign up for future dates with WatchD.O.G.S. or to volunteer through the M.O.M.S. (Mothers of Marvelous Students) initiative, please call the Parent Center at 601-635-4902 or email:á jvincent@newton.k12.ms.us

Another way to be involved in your student's education is to have access to InformationNow, an online information system where you can regularly checkáyour student's grades, attendance record, discipline, and more!á If you need access to this valuable tool, please call Jessica Thomas, the NCMS Counselor, at 601-635-4261.á

We want to take this opportuntiy toáencourage your student to listen to announcements daily.á If for some reason announcements cannot be heard while at school, please contact the main office at 601-635-3347.

In closing, there is a risingánumber of unknown apps/links being discovered by parents on the electronic devices used by our students.á Some of the apps/links are interactives to a new "stranger danger" concern growing among today's family.á If you have any questions or concerns, please call The Parent Center at 601-635-4902.á There are reliable websites that can give you valuable information on the safetyáof anyáapp, link, and even video game.

Promoting Family Involvement in Education,
